The Pistol Star is a very large star located in the general direction of our Galaxy's galactic core. If you look back in older astronomy textbooks you will discover astronomers did not expect stars to be this massive. The mass of this star exceeds that predicted by traditional theory of how stars form. The Ball-of-Light Particle Model predicts it will be considered relatively small someday as more and more stars are discovered with mass far exceeding this one.
